As a full-stack developer in L'Humanité's web team from 2015 to 2016, I maintained and evolved humanite.fr on Drupal 7, working directly with the newspaper's staff.

01 · The brief
A news site that never stops.
A news website to keep running at all times, more and more readers on mobile, and recurring needs from the web team to turn into features: statistics, subscriptions, shop.
02 · What I did
From gathering needs to the server.
- Maintenance of the existing site, interface and performance upgrades
- Google AMP integration and its template
- Statistics module via API: architecture, technical specification and development
- Statistics interface for comments
- Automatic import of new provider shop accounts
- New subscription service, with the old one kept running during the migration
- Deployment of an infrastructure on a dedicated server (VMware ESX)
03 · The outcome
- Faster mobile reading Articles available in Google AMP format, designed to load fast on mobile.
- Useful figures Statistics and comment tracking available to the web team.
- Subscribers kept A new subscription service rolled out without switching off the old one during the migration.
